Dr Wendy Spinks

Dr. Wendy Spinks is a lecturer with the School of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC). Wendy has extensive teaching experience teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prior to her current position at USC Wendy taught and created business courses for other tertiary institutions, including Deakin University (Deakin Prime), TAFE, and private course providers. Wendy has successfully supervised students at Honours, Bachelor thesis, Masters by Research, and PhD level. Wendy enjoys expanding her research connections and teaching skills through teaching internationally at partner universities, Hochschule Fulda, Hochshule Koblenz (RheinAhr campus) and Technische Hochschule Nürnberg.
Besides teaching, Wendy has over twelve years’ experience as a business and marketing consultant with Telstra; her own marketing consultancy business; and the Government SEVS-NEIS program (established to set up unemployed persons in their own businesses).
After a Masters researching consumer behaviour in the tourism industry, Wendy completed a PhD through USC to research consumer perceptions, evaluation and satisfaction with health and well-being services. Her research has been published and presented at International conferences.
Wendy works with local business and presents at local business workshops, sponsored by the Sunshine Coast Council and also organised and ran the Inaugural USC Marketing Students conference in December, 2016, with presentations from successful marketing practitioners.
