Shannon Bakon is a Lecturer within Nursing in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine. She is a current associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy and member of the NURTURE Research Cluster. Shannon is a passionate clinical researcher and has been a Chief Investigator in numerous projects that have aimed at improving the provision of emergency nursing care.
The main foci of Shannon’s research are implementing best practice policy and procedure within the emergency nursing setting for which she routinely collaborates with industry partners. She also has a research track record related to the teaching and learning of nursing students within tertiary institutions.
Shannon has written several publications and reviews for various Australian and international peer reviewed journals. Shannon is currently completing her Doctorate exploring the provision of emergency care to patients presenting due to domestic violence.
