Visualisation and the Digital Image
ADN 112 (Offering: 2003)

Description

This course investigates the significance and impact of digital imaging technologies through an analysis of visual material primarily created by the computer in graphic or electronic format. It examines processes of visual communication and the ways in which visual information is constructed to convey meaning. Through the consideration of vision, perception and social/cultural factors that affect the interpretation of visual material, students examine how different visualisation processes affect the organisation of information in both current and emerging fields such as data visualisation and networked virtual environments.
