Description
The course Environmental Health Risk Management introduces the science of environmental health and has two essential components: the major environmental health hazards and how they can affect our health and the approaches used to identify, assess and manage the risks presented by such hazards. This course considers the basic relationships between environmental factors and human health. The links between individual health, community well-being and the ecological condition of the environment are explored through an integrative, ecosystem health framework. Within this course the focus is primarily on the interactions between humans and their physical, chemical and biological living environments. The course explores the meaning of environmental health as a scientific discipline, as a public health goal, and as a field of professional practice through the following components.
