Program Overview

The Faculty of Business offers a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) to provide an advanced research option for students with coursework Masters degrees (MBAs) to continue studying to doctoral level.

As entry to the DBA requires extensive management experience, the program builds on this experience and is more suitable for students from a business background who intend to remain in business. The thesis is a rigorous piece of research specifically designed for the needs of practicing business managers with a clear focus on business applications.

Entry Requirements

Candidates for the award of Doctor of Business Administration are normally required to hold a Masters degree or a Bachelors degree with at least second class honours Division 1 from a recognised higher education institution.

Applicants who have completed a Bachelors degree and have achieved by subsequent work and study a standard equivalent to at least second class honours Division 1 may also be considered. In exceptional cases applications may be considered on the basis of other evidence of general and professional qualifications as approved by the Research Management Committee.
