This course develops knowledge and skills for students to engage with social work as a global project. Students will examine their understanding of culture, and demonstrate cultural awareness, cultural responsiveness and an appreciation of human rights in their analysis of practice. The focus will be on the contribution social work can make to problems which extend beyond national boundaries (e.g., economic and gender inequality, migration, refugees, asylum seeking, armed conflict, child slavery, international adoption, etc) and the enhancement of global wellbeing.
