SWK708 Engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples

A major national challenge remains in ‘closing the gap’ for Indigenous Australiansand Torres Strait Islander People. Professionals in many fields (social work, counselling, planning, teaching, environmental management, health) are expected to engagewith their families and communities yetfeel under-prepared by their formal training. This course providesrelevant multidisciplinary knowledge to critically reflect on current ways of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and develop specific strategies to effectively engage and deliver culturally inclusive practices.
