USC Laws graduate Zac Smithers from Redcliffe

“Growing up in Moreton Bay definitely influenced my decision to study at UniSC.

“When I first started at UniSC, it was quite a small cohort of Law students because it was the inaugural year for the degree, so I got to know everyone pretty quickly after the first semester.

“There was a great sense of community, which was a great fit for me.”

“I managed to secure a position as a Law Clerk at Shine Lawyers in Maroochydore after I completed a vacation clerkship there, which was lined up through UniSC in my final year of study.

“During the clerkship I realised I had a real passion for helping people with personal injury claims.

“You can help make a real difference in people’s lives, so it gives me quite a lot of personal satisfaction to see clients have the win they deserve.”

“I’m now working as a solicitor at Maurice Blackburn in Bundaberg, where I use knowledge and legal experience acquired while studying at UniSC to help clients – who are in disadvantageous circumstances – by fighting for a fair outcome.”
