Emma Jensen joined the Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute in 2018.

As a Research Assistant (Suicide Prevention), Emma is responsible for supporting a range of research activities, including participant recruitment and assessments, data gathering and analysis, assisting with the preparation of journal articles, and liaising with other members of staff and external organisations. Her role involves supporting the conduct of a clinical trial using a drug intervention for treating suicidal patients, and establishing and maintaining good relationships with the enrolled study participants.

Emma completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) in 2017. Her Honours research project involved her travelling independently to Vietnam. She also has experience in managing clinical caseloads in inpatient and outpatient settings as a student dietitian. Prior to studying Dietetics, Emma worked in administrative support roles.
