USC’s Thompson Institute offers a summer internship for secondary students interested in neuroscience, research, and mental health
The internship will run for the final week of the summer break, from 18 to 22 January 2021.
It is designed to give students an insight into the diverse and fascinating work of the Thompson Institute.
Students will experience:
- How latest technology like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to record images of the brain and its activity
- How research findings can improve mental health in young people
- How to keep your brain healthy for life
- Skills needed to communicate science and health messages.
Students will also gain an understanding of education and career pathways into emerging fields of work in neuroscience.
Another unique opportunity during the internship will be to peer-review a science article for publication in Frontiers for Young Minds (FYM) under the mentorship of one of our researchers.
