A specialised course designed for government staff who wish to develop a regional workforce plan that aligns to their economic development strategy. Regional Jobs Committees and Economic Development teams are encouraged to send attendees.
The Workforce Planning for Regions Course is proudly supported by the Queensland Government's Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, in partnership with Jobs Queensland.

Course Information
The content is delivered as a series of 7 x weekly workshops or as a 2-day intensive. The schedule includes the development of a customised regional workforce plan to help local government areas address their workforce needs.
Topics covered will include stakeholder planning and analysis, creating a regional workforce profile and identifying workforce supply and demand dynamics.
Gain certification and credit
Participating in this course is a great way to experience what it is like to study at University and open up a pathway into a higher-level qualification. Upon successful completion, participants receive a UniSC Certificate of Completion and gain credit* for one elective course towards UniSC’s Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
*To be eligible for credit, participants need to submit both pieces of assessment to an acceptable standard. Please note, a maximum of 2 credits can be used towards electives in the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.

The course is offered for FREE. However, participants are responsible for covering expenses such as accommodation, flights, transportation and additional meals.

Meet the Course Coordinator
Dr Wayne Graham is a Senior Lecturer in Management. Wayne has developed a suite of microcredential planning courses in partnership with the Queensland Government. The courses are co-designed, co-delivered and co-evaluated with industry representatives. Funding for the courses has been provided by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, and Jobs Queensland. The courses are offered simultaneously online and onsite at various locations throughout the state.
Wayne has presented his research findings at national and international conferences and he has published his research in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Health Organization and Management, and the Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing. As well as working in higher education, Wayne has worked in the vocational education sector, the automotive industry and local government.
