Study USC's Headstart program online

Headstart gives Year 11 and 12 students the chance to study university subjects while still in high school. It’s a great way for your child to study subjects they’re interested in to fast-track their USC degree and save money!

Study Headstart courses online

From 2021, Year 11 and 12 students will be able to study a range of subjects online to allow greater flexibility and study opportunities through USC’s Headstart program.

Students will be able to choose from a range of online subjects including Criminology, Environmental Studies, Social Media, Journalism, Fashion, Game Design and Business.

If your child chooses to study online, they’ll still have access to a wide range of student services and facilities at their local campus, including the support they need to fit study in with school and life.

Please note, some lectures and workshops are live and may not be recorded, and assessments may require face to face attendance. Please read over the course outline for further details on the course requirements.

New adjustment factors

Students who successfully complete a USC Headstart course will receive a subject adjustment factor (1 rank per course) to be applied to their ATAR score or selection rank under the Access USC scheme.

If your child completes up to four (4) courses (maximum of one course per semester), this means they can receive up to a maximum of four (4) selection ranks.
