Dr Catherine Creamer is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law and Society. Catherine is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, Chartered Forensic Psychologist, registered HCPC (UK) and AHPRA psychologist.

Catherine has 20 years postgraduate experience, providing psychosocial and clinical interventions to adults and children in clinical and forensic settings; both in-patient and community mental health, community out-reach and providing expert testimony and advice to the Courts, Parole Board and Mental Health Tribunals.

Catherine has extensive international consultancy and training expertise and has developed policy documents, training, risk assessment tools and rehabilitation treatment programmes for the Scottish Police, Scottish Government Employment Vetting Scheme (Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme), UK Home Office, New Zealand Department of Corrections and Australian Government. Catherine has developed several psychotherapeutic training programmes for those working with forensic populations. Catherine has been a Consultant Forensic Expert to the European Union, Council of Europe, since 2009 working on human rights projects relating to risk assessment, rehabilitation, mental health, and counter terrorism. She has been a short-term consultant to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes.

Catherine’s research profile is broad and demonstrates expertise in understanding and preventing the onset of intimate partner stalking/violence, risk assessments and rehabilitation in forensic areas.
