Dr John Meadows

Dr John Meadows is a Research Fellow with the Tropical Forests and People Research Centre at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

John is a forester and social scientist with expertise in forest management, revegetation, restoration ecology, agroforestry, rural socio-ecological change, NRM extension and incentive programs, small-scale biomass energy systems, indigenous land-use/livelihoods including indigenous protected area management, qualitative research, editing, and project management.

John has a PhD in small-scale forestry / social science and has published in leading scholarly journals.

Advance Queensland Innovation Partnerships (AQIP) project ‘Indigenous employment, forestry livelihoods, mining’.

Forest & Wood Products Australia (FWPA) project ‘Indigenous commercial forestry opportunities: East Arnhem, northern Australia’.

Ongoing project work for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI).
