Honorary Senior Fellow (April 2017)
Christopher Simon was named an Honorary Senior Fellow in April 2017 in recognition of his significant involvement in the arts and the University.
Christopher has made outstanding contributions to the University through his extraordinary educational passion and philanthropy.
USC’s regionally significant collection of Central and Western Desert Art, which is prominently displayed around campus, is mainly attributable to Christopher’s generosity and vision, through his philanthropic donations of major works by Aboriginal artists over the past 14 years. This collection continues to provide daily inspiration to students, staff and visitors, and has proved invaluable in extending the cultural reach of the University, through a carefully researched educational package for local school students.
While in monetary terms Christopher’s donations to the University amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars, the value in terms of educational and cultural return will certainly multiply that over the coming decades.
