David Kirk

Honorary Senior Fellow (April 2015)

David Kirk was named an Honorary Senior Fellow in April 2015 in recognition of his significant philanthropic contributions to the University and Sunshine Coast community through the generosity and support of the Kirk Foundation.

Mr David Kirk is a major philanthropist and vocal supporter of the University, who always speaks positively about our staff and students. His generous financial contributions for more than a decade have provided tremendous advantages for many USC students. Mr David Kirk has been instrumental in the establishment of Headstart scholarships, which have supported more than 60 local high school students to undertake University study while still at school. This important program has helped many, who otherwise may have not been able, to pursue their dreams of tertiary education. Mr David Kirk was a major donor towards the construction of the USC Olympic Swimming Pool, and additional support he has provided has seen the creation of three PhD scholarships in the areas of falls prevention and aquatic therapies. While continuing to support our students, Mr David Kirk also donates to many regional initiatives, buying surf life saving equipment and providing services for those suffering arthritis and depression.
