Professor Greg Hill

Emeritus Professor (September 2020)

Professor Greg Hill was named Emeritus Professor in September 2020 in recognition of his leadership and vision which has enabled USC to become a university of international standing and an unsurpassed and invaluable community asset.

Professor Greg Hill served as USC's Deputy Vice-Chancellor from 2005-2010. In this role he was associated with the introduction of a broad range of new undergraduate programs and the development of USC’s track record in high quality teaching. He also laid the foundations for the rapid development of USC’s research profile and performance, and enhanced USC’s engagement with its community. He was then appointed to the role of USC's Vice-Chancellor and President in 2011 with a focus on expanding the University’s geographic footprint to ensure the future of USC and education in the region with USC study locations now situated at Fraser Coast, Fraser Island, Gympie, Noosa, Caboolture, North Lakes, Sunshine Coast, SouthBank, Sydney and Melbourne. Professor Hill has led the development of USC as a growing, comprehensive university that is increasingly research intensive and a primary engine of capacity building for the region from Brisbane to the Fraser Coast. Professor Hill is an advocate for preserving the natural beauty on our campus, in both the natural and built form, while providing the highest possible standards of teaching and research services and support for our students. As a result, our campus has attracted national and international attention and awards for its profile in sustainability.
