What is Orientation?
Orientation is about getting prepared to start university.
Semester 2, 2020 Orientation will be held completely online. Through a mix of live workshops, webinars, video recordings and interactive sessions, you will meet your teachers, learn about your program and get familiar our with online systems.
We'll also introduce you to our wide range of support services and help you make connections with other students. You’ll feel ready for the semester to begin with opportunities to refresh your study skills and ask all of your questions about getting started.

Access to Orientation activities and workshops will be available from 22 June.
This will give you four weeks before your classes commence to work your way through webinars and video recordings and attend live workshops and interactive sessions. Here's a sneak peak at what Orientation will look like.
First thing's first - if you haven't already, activate your offer to study at USC.
Get organised now to make the most of Orientation and give yourself the best possible start to your studies. Register for a Preparing for USC session and Academic Skills workshops and start completing your Getting Started checklist.
Setup your student email, download Microsoft Office 365 and get familiar with our IT systems and how to use Zoom for learning.
Log in to USC Central and select your courses and class times. Class selection for Study Period 2 opens 22 June. You will need to activate your offer before you can enrol.
Submit a photo for your student ID card so you can start reaping the student benefits!
If you have studied before, submit a credit application now.
Plan how you will manage your study, social and work commitments.
Find your textbooks, workbooks and other study materials required.
Check the Academic Calendar and save important dates such as enrolment, grade release and Census date.
If your studies are affected by a disability, learning disorder, mental health issue, injury or illness, you are strongly encouraged to connect with AccessAbility Services as early as possible. AccessAbility Services can provide access to appropriate reasonable adjustments and practical advice about the support and facilities available to you throughout the University.
Getting started with Zoom
Zoom is a collaboration tool that is ideal for online classes, meetings, special events and webinars. Many Orientation sessions and activities will be delivered via Zoom as well as some of your classes when they begin. Download the Zoom software today (free for all USC students) and start getting familiar with using Zoom for learning.
