These AFWI-funded roles represent a major investment in the sector’s future, creating opportunities to secure innovation leadership for Australia’s forest and wood industries, driving transformational research, partnerships, and impact through to June 2030, with funding to support long-term projects and research students.

The roles on offer:

  1. Industry Chair of System-Based Thinking and AI Integration for Increased Timber Production
  2. Industry Chair of Advanced Engineered and Composite Wood Products
  3. Industry Fellow in Healthy and Productive Forests Through Effective Indigenous-Led Partnerships
  4. Industry Fellow in Total Fibre Recovery and Value Chain Innovation

Applications are now open and close on Tuesday, 6 January 2026.
