Social Sport — USC Sunshine Coast

USC Sport provides a wide variety of free social sport programs, available to students and staff. It is a great way to keep fit and meet new people in a social environment.

No team necessary, just turn up and get involved!

Social Mixed Netball Competition 

Commences: 2 August 2017 *

Competition runs each Wednesday at the USC Stadium with games from 2.45–3.45pm. The competition consists of nine rounds beginning 2 August with two weeks of finals concluding 18 October. Free entry for USC students!

Team registrations and individual entries are now open. Number of teams is limited to capacity and students must be currently enrolled at USC with a valid student id card.

* Each team will be required to umpire the game before or after their own game.
* No games will be played  on 27 September due to the mid-semester break.

How to enter a team

Each team requires a team manager/contact to email the following details to sport@usc.edu.au.

  • Team name
  • Team contact person
  • Student number
  • Student Email
  • Mobile number
  • Team players list including student names, student emails, student numbers and contact numbers
How to register as an individual 

Email USC Sport with the following details and we will do our best to find you a team.

  • Name
  • Student number
  • Student Email
  • Mobile number
Uniforms and equipment

Bibs will be provided for each game.

Player rules

Netball teams consist of 7 players, however you need a minimum of 5 players to take the court. (no more than 3 males on the court at one time)

  • Each mixed team must have 5 to 7 players on the court
  • Less than 5 players results in an automatic forfeit. Teams may then play a ‘friendly’
  • Teams cannot use substitutes from other teams
Game rules
  • Each half lasts 9 minutes with a two minute half time
  • Standard Netball rules apply for footwork, obstruction and contact
  • The Umpires decision is final
