To assist the judging process, it is essential that you supply as much detail as possible and ensure the accuracy of the information provided, within the time period.
Eligibility
- Must be proceeding towards an academic award at the University of the Sunshine Coast and must have completed at least one unit of study OR have graduated from UniSC in the year prior.
- Sporting results must have been achieved between 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024.
- Applicants must be competing in –
- Official national or international championships or competitions, recognised by a National Sporting Organisation (NSO) that is endorsed by the Australian Sports Commission
- A selected official Queensland or Australian team, endorsed by the relevant national Sporting Organisation (NSO)

UniSC Sports Awards
Sportsperson of the Year
- The university’s highest sporting accolade is awarded to the UniSC student considered to have produced the best result/s in their sporting arena as determined by the Sport Awards Committee. The winner has not only achieved success in their chosen sport, but they are also someone of good character who displays sportsmanship on and off the field.
Team of the Year
- This award goes to a team that has shown outstanding achievement both on and off the field. The team possesses a high level of sportsmanship and team spirit at all times and had the best results within university competitions.
Vice Chancellor's Sporting and Academic Excellence
- This award celebrates student athletes who excel in their chosen sport whilst maintaining a high academic level.
Half Blue Award
- This performance-based award recognises those with outstanding sporting performance.
- Criteria:
- Success at an open national level
- Success at a youth international level or selection on a youth national squad, including Youth Olympics, Youth Commonwealth Games or Age World Championships.
- Displays good sportsmanship in and out of competition
Blue Award
- This performance-based award recognises those with outstanding sporting performance.
- Criteria:
- Success at open international level or selection on an open national squad, including Olympic, Commonwealth Games or World Championship representation
- Has reached a standard comparable to Australia’s best sportspeople
- Displays good sportsmanship in and out of competition
Continued Excellence
- Has previously received a full Blue Award and has reproduced or bettered their results from their most recent award.
Team Spirit of the Year
- Team nominees will have contributed positively to the promotion and development of sport at UniSC, whilst displaying pride in representing their sport or club.
Outstanding Service to Sport
- Recognises a student or non-student who has shown outstanding service, team spirit, leadership and contribution to sport either through a volunteer or manager position.
Sports Club of the Year

The UniSC Sports Club of the Year Award celebrates the outstanding achievements and contributions of a UniSC student sport club over the past year. This prestigious accolade recognises a club that has demonstrated exceptional performance, leadership, and positive commitment both in and out of the sporting arena. Criteria for selection will be determined from competition success, community engagement, club development, governance and inter-varsity competition engagement.
