Dr Nestor Gregorio holds a BSc in Forestry, MPhil and PhD in Natural Systems Management, with research centred on forest landscape restoration and enhancing the supply of high-quality seedlings for national forest restoration initiatives. Nestor brings over 12 years of experience as a university lecturer, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in subjects such as forest mensuration, forest ecology, nursery management (basic and advanced), silvicultural systems, wood physics, wood structure and properties, community forestry, systems analysis, and photogrammetry.
Nestor has led and managed large-scale research-for-development and in-development projects for more than 17 years, focusing on improving the effectiveness of family and community-based reforestation programs in developing countries. Additionally, he has over six years of experience supervising PhD candidates in Australia, guiding research on topics including carbon measurement in forest landscapes, community forestry and livelihoods, seedling production systems, and agroforestry in forest restoration.

Dr Nestor Gregorio is a forester with research interest on forest and landscape restoration. He is responsible for the implementation ACIAR funded FLR research projects in the Philippines. He leads research activities focusing on developing and testing different FLR models, and undertaking research activities related to policy development promoting the success of people-based forest restoration.
