Lynette Cheah is Professor and Chair of Sustainable Transport at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. She directs the Sustainable Urban Mobility research laboratory, which develops data-driven models and tools to reduce the environmental impacts of passenger and urban freight transport. She was a Fellow with the Martin Family Society for Sustainability and winner of the $100K Singapore Challenge Prize in the Global Young Scientists Summit 2013. She is Handling Editor for Transportation Research Record, Associate Editor for the Journal of Industrial Ecology and served as Review Editor for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report. From 2023-2026, she is a Coordinating Lead Author for UNEP’s Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7) report.
