How do I enrol?

How to enrol

This is your step-by-step guide to understanding what courses to enrol in, how to enrol and select class times. You can enrol in courses for the full calendar year and select class times before the start of each semester.

1. Plan your study

Planning out your study for each semester will allow you to understand your program structure and enrol in the right courses (subjects) at the right time. This way, you can graduate from your degree when you plan to.

Before you enrol, you need to plan which courses to select according to your course requisites, program rules and requirements.

  1. Check what courses you need to enrol in. Visit managing your progression to better understand your program structure and for instructions on how to review your progress and plan your remaining courses.
  2. Review Curriculum Changes to see if any changes to your program structure need to be considered when planning your study.
2. Enrol in your courses (subjects)

When course selection opens for your study period:

  1. Log into USC Central
  2. Select Manage Enrolment
  3. Search for courses by entering the course code (eg BUS101) and study location. Select Search (Note: You may need to choose from the available enrolment terms, eg Semester 1, before you can search for courses)
  4. Select the course
  5. Select the available Course Component (eg Tutorial).
  6. Select the class
  7. Select Add Enrolment
  8. You will see a confirmation that the class has been added.
  9. Select Return to Course Search Page and repeat steps 3-8 to enrol in your other courses.

To view the courses you are enrolled in, select Update Class Times.

Note: If you enrol in a course but don't select a class time or drop it from your enrolment before census date, you'll still incur the fee for the course. You won't be able to select a class time until class selection opens. You can add courses up until the end of week 2, and remove courses from your enrolment up until census date. View key dates in the academic calendar.

View instructions in the How to enrol in your courses PDF guide (625 KB).

3. Select your class times when class selection opens

Plan your preferred class times before class selection opens, using the online timetable planner.

When class selection opens, select class times for the courses you have enrolled in.

Follow the below steps to add your class times for each of the courses you enrolled in:

  1. Log in to USC Central
  2. Select Manage Enrolment
  3. Select Update Class Times then the term you are selecting classes for.
  4. Select the course
  5. You will need to select your preferred class time for each available Course Component (e.g. Laboratory, Lecture, Tutorial, Workshop).
    • Note: If a course already has the Status of ‘Enrolled – Classes selected’, and it is an online course, it has no scheduled class times and there are no further class selection steps you need to take for it.
  6. Select your preferred class time.
  7. Once you have selected class times for each Course Component, you will see a tick next to each of them.
  8. Select Add Enrolment
  9. You will see a confirmation that the class has been added to your timetable.
  10. Select Return to Course Search Page and repeat steps 3-9 to select classes for each of your courses.

Follow the instructions in the Select your class times PDF guide (759 KB).

Note: If you enrol in a course but don't select a class time or drop it from your enrolment before census date, you'll still incur the fee for the course. You can add courses up until the end of week 2, and remove courses from your enrolment up until the census date. View key dates in the academic calendar.

Confirm your enrolment
