How to enrol
It's important that you enrol correctly to make sure you study the right courses (subjects) at the right time so you can graduate from your degree when you plan to.
Before you enrol, you need to plan which courses to select according to your course requisites, program rules and requirements.
Visit managing your progression to better understand your program structure and for instructions on how to review your progress and plan your remaining courses.
It is each student's responsibility to manage their progression correctly and to be aware of the key enrolment dates in the academic calendar.
Enrolling is a two-step process
To complete your enrolment:
- Enrol in your courses (we encourage you to select courses for the full calendar year), then
- Select your class times for the upcoming study period when class selection opens.
View key enrolment dates in the academic calendar.
Your enrolment is not complete until you’ve selected your class times for your chosen courses.
When course selection opens for your study period:
- Log into USC Central
- Select Manage Enrolment
- Search for courses by entering the course code (eg BUS101) and study location. Select Search (Note: You may need to choose from the available enrolment terms, eg Semester 1, before you can search for courses)
- Select the course
- Select the available Course Component (eg Tutorial).
- Select the class
- Select Add Enrolment
- You will see a confirmation that the class has been added.
- Select Return to Course Search Page and repeat steps 3-8 to enrol in your other courses.
To view the courses you are enrolled in, select Update Class Times.
Note: If you enrol in a course but don't select a class time or drop it from your enrolment before census date, you'll still incur the fee for the course. You can add courses up until the end of week 2, and remove courses from your enrolment up until census date. View key dates in the academic calendar.

Key tips for an easier class selection experience
Before class selection opens:
- View and plan your timetable now
- Online courses - If you are enrolled in an online course and it already has the Status ‘Enrolled – Classes selected’, it has no scheduled class times, so there are no class selection steps you need to take for it on class selection day.
- If you are a continuing student, check if your program has changed. Some program structure and course offerings have changed for Semester 1, 2021.
- Log into USC Central (using your username, not your email address) and complete your Tasks before your class selection date. Your Tasks will display for you to action once you log in.
- Resolve timetable clashes
- Find out how to swap a course
- If you've forgotten, reset your password now
- Solve other issues logging into USC Central
On class selection day:
- Google Chrome is the preferred internet server. Microsoft Edge is not recommended for use.
- Don't use multiple devices to try and log in - this slows the system down.
- Don't close or refresh your browser - doing this will send you to the back of the line.
- If you do close your browser, sign out of USC Central first before logging back in. If you don't, the system will slow down even more.
- Most students login in the first 30 minutes so be patient.
