As parents, we want the best for our children, especially when it comes to their education and future opportunities. UniSC’s Early Offer Guarantee is designed to provide just that—a chance for your child to secure their place at university before they even finish Year 12. Let’s explore what this program can offers to your child.
What is the Early Offer Guarantee?
The Early Offer Guarantee allows Year 12 students to receive an early offer for a place at UniSC. This offer is made independently of your child's ATAR score - instead your student's school will make an assessment based on a combination of academic performance, motivations, talents, passion and ability. Receiving an early offer reduces the stress and uncertainty of exams and waiting for final results.
How does the Early Offer Guarantee work?
- Application process: Students apply through their school, which will recommend them based on their academic performance and potential. This recommendation is a crucial part of the process, ensuring that students who are capable and ready for university get the opportunity.
- Receive an offer: Once recommended, UniSC assesses the application and, if successful, provides an early offer to the student. This offer is usually conditional upon the student completing Year 12 and meeting any specified prerequisites.
- Acceptance: Students can then accept their offer, giving them peace of mind as they complete their final year of high school.
Benefits of the Early Offer Guarantee
-
Reduced stress: Knowing they have a confirmed university place can significantly reduce the stress and pressure students feel during their final exams.
-
Better focus: With the assurance of a university offer, students can focus more on their studies and enjoy their final months of high school.
-
Planning ahead: Early acceptance allows families to plan for the transition to university life more effectively.
Zara, early offer recipient:
“Now going into final ATAR exams, I know I still have to work really hard, but it is nice to know I already have an approved place, and don’t have the stress or anxiety waiting for results to come in.”

How to get started
- Talk to your child’s school: If your child is interested in the Early Offer Guarantee, start by discussing it with their school. Schools play a crucial role in recommending students for the program.
- Explore UniSC’s programs: Visit the UniSC website to explore the range of programs offered and find the best fit for your child’s interests and career goals.
- Prepare the application: Work with your child to gather the necessary documents and prepare their application. Ensure they understand the importance of their school’s recommendation.
- Stay informed: Keep an eye on key dates to ensure your child doesn’t miss out on this opportunity.
What if your child doesn’t get the minimum ATAR?
Students who receive an early offer who don't subsequently receive the ATAR for their program will still be admitted into the program that they received their early offer for - provided they meet any prerequisites and successfully complete Year 12.
