Kristy Gerlach is a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy – Clinical Education.

Kristy has worked as an occupational therapist throughout Queensland and the United Kingdom in both the public and private sectors of health. Her clinical experience has included acute medical/surgical, neurological rehabilitation, burns management and hand injuries. She has worked in hospitals and community settings both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team. Most recently, she has worked in a private hand clinic where she achieved her full accreditation as a hand therapist.

Kristy holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Queensland and a Masters of Science in Hand Therapy from the University of Derby. She also has post-graduate certificate in Soft Tissue Injury Management from James Cook University.

She is keen to use her years of clinical experience to enhance student learning and build the bridge between theory and clinical practice.
