* Not offered until Semester 2, 2026. This course builds on PTY200 Core Physiotherapy Skills A. Students will be orientated to common orthopaedic and sports surgeries, and post-surgical protocols. Students will develop skills in screening the suitability of a client to mobilise after surgery and/or hospitalisation and assist the client to mobilise safely with appropriate gait aids. Students will extend skills in exercise prescription, assessing balance and falls risk, and liaise with other health professionals to enhance client care and ensure safe discharge. Approximately 60 hours of work-integrated learning is embedded.
