22 October 2018

The Australian flag bearer for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and captain of the gold medal winning field hockey team Mark Knowles will share his journey as an elite athlete on Tuesday 23 October at USC.

Mr Knowles, who has represented Australia at four Olympic Games and was World Player of the Year in 2014, will speak from 2-3pm at a special USC High Performance Sport presentation for local high school students.

The event aims to guide future athletes on the practical aspects of elite sport and to encourage them to consider their long-term aspirations.

Mr Knowles, who now works as a Queensland Academy of Sport personal development advisor, will discuss his own transition to life after elite sport.

Media and the general public are welcome to attend this presentation in Building E on USC’s main campus at Sippy Downs.
