Quinn is an academic home-grown from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Studying a double degree in Laws (Honours Class I) and Creative Industries (Creative Writing and Publishing), Quinn immersed himself in life at UniSC. After his undergraduate degree, Quinn continued his study with UniSC, undertaking his PhD Candidature.
Quinn’s research focusses on Cultural Legal Studies, within the burgeoning SOLAH research cluster. In particular, his PhD research centres on cultural legal studies of legal personhood for artificially intelligent entities (AIE), as read through science fiction media.
Taking roles as a sessional academic, Quinn developed his teaching, marking and connection with the University community. Teaching a range of Courses within the Law, it only made sense for Quinn to take the next step: becoming a Teaching Fellow in Law. Bringing the same energy of research to his teaching, Quinn aims to combine practical experience and theoretical know-how to deliver quality teaching with innovative methods.
