This Work-Integrated Learning course is essential preparation for professional practice as a dietitian. Under the supervision of an experienced supervisor, you will demonstrate skills and competencies in nutrition and dietetic workplace settings. Settings may include hospital and health services, community health, government and private organisations and the UniSC clinic. Academic staff allocate placement dates and settings, and you will be required to complete the specified number of placement days as per the placement timetable scheduled over one or more placement blocks. This placement contributes towards the total 100 days of professional placement required to meet the Dietitians Australia National Competency and Accreditation Standards for Dietetic Education.
